Hey lady!
Welcome to Humble Oaks!
I’m Liz and I’m so excited you’ve found my blog. I like to think of Humble Oaks as a place where we can come to find rest and share ideas. Ideas about simple living and getting back to what matters most, even in today’s busy world.
If you’re anything like me, your days are long, the pressure you put on yourself intense and the to-do list is never ending. I want Humble Oaks to provide you with ways to make your days a little simpler and reminders that you are beautiful just as you (yes, even if you haven’t showered in three days) and every day is a new day with new opportunities to grow.
Sometimes new friendships can be awkward, so let me break the ice by introducing myself. First and foremost, I am a daughter of God, always aiming to grow to be more like Jesus. I am a mama to two amazing and goofy little boys who are only 18 months apart (yay for Irish twins!). I am a military wife to my handsome and loving husband, Marc, and a dog mom as well. I believe “self-help” books should be called “personal growth” books and I love reading them; I enjoy being active and I love the little things in life: my boys giggling and playing together, my husband’s crow feet, hearing the seed pods on a Honey Locust tree rattle in the wind and sipping a good Mexican mocha. I value learning (you’re never too old to learn new things) and honesty. I truly believe God created me uniquely with a purpose, which means He created you that way too; and life is best lived with a lot of laughter and grace.
I hope Humble Oaks becomes a place you find comfort and peace among your busy days, a place that provides you tips and tricks to live simpler so you have more time and energy to appreciate God’s gift to you – His creation. You’re welcome to contact me at any time with thoughts, suggestions or questions.
